Um acidente entre um ônibus e um caminhão provocou ao menos 41 mortes e deixou mais dezenas de feridos na manhã de hoje. O Corpo de Bombeiros de Piraju disse ao UOL que recebeu o primeiro chamado para atender a ocorrência às 6h45.
A batida aconteceu na rodovia Alfredo de Oliveira Carvalho, entre Taguaí e Taquarituba, na região de Avaré, no interior de São Paulo.
De acordo com informações do governo estadual de São Paulo junto à Polícia Rodoviária, o número de mortos, que inicialmente era divulgado como sendo de cerca de 20 vítimas, chegou a 41 no fim da manhã....
Segundo a Polícia Militar, o acidente ocorreu no km 172 da rodovia, em Taguaí, e o ônibus levava 53 pessoas, que eram funcionárias de uma empresa têxtil, para o trabalho.
A Polícia Militar trata o acidente como o maior do ano, de acordo com o tenente Alexandre Guedes. "É a maior ocorrência de acidente com vítimas fatais nas rodovias neste ano. Não há mais sobreviventes no local. Todos os sobreviventes foram socorridos", disse ele, à GloboNews.
Segundo ele, a primeira hipótese é de que uma ultrapassagem poderia ter causado o acidente, mas as investigações ainda estão em estágio inicial.
